Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the process of tracking data produced during the creation of a building. In the design phase, powerful 3D software is used to model the building geometry. The software then tracks all the important information of the design, construction, and spending. The ability to track this information gives architects, engineers, builders, and owners a clear overall vision of their project and allows adjustments to be made in the virtual world rather than in the real world where changes tend to be costly and can cause delays.
